Happy Spring!

Ahh....spring break!  It was wonderful to have a time of rest and refreshment, even if that time of rest and refreshment didn't take me to the beach.   But that's okay, it was a wonderful break regardless.

However, I must be honest...I like a little routine and structure in my life.  So, I am glad to be back in the swing of things.  I hope you all enjoyed your spring breaks and I am anxious to hear about all of the exciting adventures you may have embarked on.  Do share!

God is Good!

I know...much too much time has gone by since I last updated.  My apologies!  I have been a busy girl.  But, oh how I do love to hear from all of you, even if you are harping on me for not updating  :)    I really do appreciate your comments!

This week I have been reminded of God's goodness and faithfulness.  He is so faithful to us!  How many times do I take that for granted?  How often do I forget to praise Him for the many blessings He has given me and the many things He is so worthy of?  In Deuteronomy it says, "Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands."

How has God been faithful to you?

The DC Experience

The trip to DC last weekend was amazing and I am so glad so many of you were able to come!  I very much loved hanging out with you guys and gals...you are too fun!

Memorable Moments...

-Mitch and his attempt at the Chubby joke
-Kayla and her amazing skills of the Chubby joke...I loved it!
-The crazy and intense competition of "Pens"
    -Washington Monument Experience
    -Worshiping at the Naval Academy
-Devotional time and hearing from you all
    -Silent Football
    -And of course...the WC

I hope you were all challenged and have taken what you learned from the retreat to heart.  It is so easy to come off a retreat with this spiritual high and then when you get home, you feel a little down and out and wish you could go back to the experience you had.  Don't let it stop there!  Use what you learned and what you gained as a springboard and jump into whatever new thing God has planned for you!

New Year's Resolutions

Ok...so we are about one week into the New Year.  What are some of your New Year's Resolutions and more importantly, have you kept them thus far?

Task for the day....taking down my Christmas tree.  I like to leave it up until the last possible moment that it is still appropriate to have Christmas decorations up without being one of "those" people.  I am always so sad to see the Christmas season come and go so quickly.  It flies by and I try to hold on to every special moment and Christmas magic that I have experienced.

So, why do I love Christmas so much?  I love the the lights and trees, the Christmas parties and white elephant gift exchanges, the opportunity to be with friends and family and the overall holiday cheer that comes from this very special season.  What did I really love about Christmas this year?  The constant reminder of the reason we celebrate this season.  Emmanuel...God is with us...God came near to us!

As I carefully wrap each ornament and stuff the tree back into the storage closet, I hope my joy and giddiness of the Christmas season doesn't go into the closet along with everything else.  As Christmas is over and the new year is upon me, I hope I won't become lukewarm to the thought that Jesus came to die for me.  Let us not forget...
